¿QUE HORA ES ALLA?

Desde la historia cultural, esta obra estudia dos textos casi contemporáneos: la Histoire de l Inde de l Ouest escrita en Estambul en 1580 y el Repertorio de los tiempos, publicado en México en 1606. Practicando el arte del montaje cinematográfico, Gruzinski hace dialogar ambos textos, rescatando las singularidades de dos visiones del mundo, la del islam y la de América, con el objetivo de aclarar cómo se percibía y se explicaba al mundo en los albores de la época moderna. Los planteamientos de ¿Qué hora es allá? invitan a pensar la historia en términos globales, sin olvidar que no se puede pensar a Europa sin el islam ni América sin Europa

From the cultural history, this work studies two texts almost contemporary: the Histoire de l Inde de l Ouest written in Istanbul in 1580 and the Repertoire of the times, published in Mexico in 1606. Gruzinski makes this two texts converse with each other through the art of cinematographic montage, where he recovers the singularities of two visions of the world, the one from Islam and the other from America, with the objective of clarifying how they were perceived and explained to the world on the dawn of the modern era. The approaches of "Qu hora es all? Invites the reader to think in global terms, without forgetting that Europe needs Islam as well as America needs Europe.
